Giles Andreae , illustrated by Guy Parker-Rees Tonight there is a dance in the
jungle and all of the animals are going to show off their finest moves.
But Gerald the giraffe struggles to boogie on account of his long neck
and legs. The other animals mock him and his clumsy ways. However, a
little cricket shows Gerald that he can in fact dance, he just needs to
find his own groove. Giraffes Can't Dance is a brilliant book
that celebrates being different. Ultimately we can achieve anything as long as we have faith in ourselves and try. The story is given pace through the
use of rhyme and the pictures are colourful and eye-catching. A great
choice for toddlers. 4/5
